In the months of monsoon, during August and September, the backwaters of Kerala reverberate with the sound of the traditional snake boat races. Snake boats or Chundan boats are 130 feet long country boats used for transportation in olden times. The snake boat pageantry of Kerala, the largest team sport in the world, found place in Guinness book of records. All types of Kerala country crafts are being participated in boat races.
The boat race is a sport that echoes excellent team spirit, integration and amity of people of Kerala.
